	Cabri Day from 08 to 9 April 2012 April 8-9 Each year, during the Easter weekend, the island of La Désirade celebrates Cabri Day, a Caribbean cuisine’s favorite! “Fèt A Kabrit” (Cabri or goat meat Day in Creole) is a marking event on La Désirade Island. Tourists and residents come to taste the local specialties made with goat meat. Many activities are planned around this food fair: election of the best cabri costume, concerts, lectures, debates, games … The perfect event to blend with the locals! 	The Terra film Festival : environment and sustainable development from 23 to 31 March 2012 The Terra Festival, dedicated to films on the environment and sustainable development, is a much-awaited rendez-vous for cinephiles and environmentalists. This year, from March 23 to 31, several cities will be hosting the event, including Basse-Terre, Goyave, La Désirade, Lamentin, Le Gosier, Le Moule, Marie-Galante and Sainte-Anne. The goal of the Terra Festival: to raise awareness of the risks threatening our environment through the seventh art and documentaries. Projections are free and are always followed by discussions and lectures, which offer spectators the opportunity to talk with experts about the different issues. Terra Festival is also a competition opened to national and international productions. The selected documentaries are screened in public places and judged by a jury.
